7th LIDER Roadmapping Workshop at Madrid

El taller, que lleva por título “Datos Enlazados y Multilingüismo para la Lingüística y las Humanidades Digitales”, tendrá lugar en la Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingenieros de Telecomunicación (ETSIT) de la Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. El evento contará con diversas charlas invitadas de expertos en la materia así como sesiones abiertas en los que se tratarán de forma específica diversos temas, como por ejemplo:

1st Summer School on Smart Cities and Linked Open Data (LD4SC-15)

The 1st Summer School on Smart Cities and Linked Data (LD4SC-15) will be held from June 7th to 12th 2015 at Residencia Lucas Olazábal of Universidad Politécnica de Madrid in Cercedilla, a municipality of the autonomous community of Madrid in central Spain.

The LD4SC-15 summer school has the main goal of teaching people from industry and academia in an easy and guided way how to use Linked Open Data technologies in the domain of smart cities, facilitating through a simple approach a first contact with these technologies. This summer school is the first one organized in this topic worldwide and is supported by the READY4SmartCities FP7 Coordination and Support Action.

SSSW15

We are pleased to announce the eleventh Summer School on Ontology Engineeing and Semantic Web (SSSW 2015). The groundbreaking SSSW series of summer schools started in 2003. It is now a well-established event within the research community and a role model for several other initiatives. In 2013, we will be celebrating the 10th anniversary of SSSW, with a set of tutors comprising leading researchers in the community, prestigious invited speakers, networking and mentoring sessions with research and industry leaders (including former students of the school), and of course, an exciting social programme in one of the most beautiful locations in Spain. To ensure a high ratio between tutors and students the school will be limited to 50 participants.

Ontologies Development (1 ECTS)

The course on "Ontologies development" will be held during the academic year 2012-2013. There are two different periods in which the course will be held:

From 4th to 8th, February 2013
From 3rd to 8th, June 2013

TKE Conference 2012

New frontiers in the constructive symbiosis of terminology and knowledge engineering - TKE (Terminology and Knowledge Engineering) Conference

The conference is organized by the Ontology Engineering Group (OEG), Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM), and the Association for Terminology and Knowledge Transfer (GTW). The main conference will be on 20-21 June and workshops will take place 19 and 22 at the Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingenieros de Caminos, Canales y Puertos, UPM. Moreover, the annual meeting of ISO TC37 will be held in Madrid, 25-29 June.

1st Summer Datathon on Linguistic Linked Open Data (SD-LLOD-15)

The 1st Summer Datathon on Linguistic Linked Open Data (SD-LLOD-15) will be held from June 15th to 19th 2015 at Residencia Lucas Olazábal of Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, Cercedilla, Madrid.

The SD-LLOD datathon has the main goal of giving people from industry and academia practical knowledge in the field of Linked Data applied to Linguistics. The final aim is to allow participants to migrate their own (or other's) linguistic data and publish them as Linked Data on the Web. This datathon is the first organized in this topic worldwide and is supported by the LIDER FP7 Support Action.

Presented by leading researchers in the field, it represents an opportunity for both students and practitioners to equip themselves with the range of theoretical, practical, and collaboration skills necessary for full engagement with the challenges involved in developing Ontologies and Semantic Web applications. To ensure a high ratio between tutors and students the school will be limited to 50 participants. Applications for the summer school will open on the 30th January 2012 and will close by the 31st March 2012.
