Rana is a PhD student at Ontology Engineering Group. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering (2013) and a Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence (2016), both from Shahid Beheshti University, Tehran, Iran. She has experience working as a Full Stack Web Developer (2016-2018) on an online educational platform with the main goal of removing barriers to learning and offering diverse services to both teachers and students.

She joined the Ontology Engineering Group (OEG) of the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid in February 2020. Her PhD is defined under the project PROTECT -Protecting Personal Data Amidst Big Data Innovation-, funded by Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions.
