Víctor Rodríguez Doncel (1978) is a postdoc researcher in the Ontology Engineering Group (OEG), at Departamento de Inteligencia Artificial – Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM).
He has conducted research both in the industry (GMV Sistemas) and in the academia (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Univ. Politecnica de Catalunya, Barcelona Digital), achieving his Ph.D. in 2010 with the thesis "Semantic Representation and Enforcement of Electronic Contracts on Multimedia Content". This work was a major contribution towards the standard ISO/IEC 21000-19, Media Value Chain Ontology, of which he is editor along with some other standards.
His interests lie in the area of intellectual property, licenses, contracts and their semantic representation, being an active member of the W3C ODRL (Open Digital Rights Language) community group. He maintains a dataset of common licenses in RDF and a set of services and technologies for the license-based, conditional access to linked data.
Víctor has a teaching record of 6 years, having written a patent and two books; he has also published 8 indexed journal papers and over 20 publications in conferences and workshops in the area of the Semantic Web.
